A new cycle of the Air regulations started on January 1, 2011. The ICAO Technical Instructions 2011-2012 edition is now available.
The 2010 IMDG Code is now available. It is became mandatory to use for international sea transport for as of January 1, 2012.
Passenger & Crew Exemptions for Air Transport
The current exemptions are included in the 2012 versions of the Air Shipper, IATA DGR and the 2011-2012 version of the ICAO Technical Instructions.
Each airline has the ability to be more restrictive than the exemptions noted. It is important for passengers and crew to be aware of which exemptions apply to the airline they are flying on.
Shipping Dangerous Goods by Air (ICAO) Includes IATA and ICAO 2011 requirements.
This course is designed to teach the additional requirements of how to ship dangerous goods by air, as required by the Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations including: shipping descriptions; packing instructions; marking; labelling; segregation; etc.
Participants must have a good understanding of the ground shipping requirements. This would be demonstrated by completing the TDG Ground Course, or equivalent.
All participants require access to a copy of the 2011 Air Shipper or IATA DGR while taking the course.
